The Lake Malawi National
Park, located at the southern end of Africa’s Great Rift Valley,
is a World Heritage Site, the world’s first Freshwater Marine Reserve
and an area of extraordinary diversity and natural beauty. It is home
to thousands of cichlid tropical fish that are vital to the biodiversity
of our planet.
The Lake is Malawi’s premier tourist attraction, not only because
it occupies one fifth of the country and therefore hard to miss, but also
because of a wonderfully diverse shoreline, which varies from precipitous
valley walls to wide sandy beaches, and the unique islands and the very
different experiences that they offer.
The focus of our attention is the three islands of Domwe, Mombo and Likoma,
and three very unique lodges located on them.
