and boasts some 160km of beautifully unspoilt coastline, protected to a large extent by a ring of coral that is habitat to a vast
array of ocean fauna and flora. The surprisingly cosmopolitan population are some of the most welcoming and friendly folk I
have encountered on my travels, all of whom appear to have adopted a culture of service and hospitality that rivals the best in
the world. The island also boasts some of the finest resorts and hotels in the world, not just the Indian Ocean. However it is
probably the beautifully white sandy beaches, warm crystal clear waters and every island activity imaginable that lure visitors
back to Mauritius year after year.
