As one might expect and for that matter, hope for on an island the size of a matchbox in the middle of the Mozambique Channel, there is a limit to the amount you can do. However, this is exactly what makes the islands of Bazaruto, Benguerra and Inhaca so appealing. The primary activities, if you can call them that, are total relaxation, unwinding on a deserted island and frequent dips into a turquoise blue ocean. Alternatively, besides the usual resort activities like kayaking, dhow cruises, island tours and excursions, beach BBQ’s and sundowners, these islands offer some of the finest diving, snorkelling and big game fishing in the Indian Ocean. |

Some two thousand fish species,
representing over 80% of the families of the Indo-Pacific region, occur
here. Among the archipelago's most interesting creatures is the whale
shark - the largest fish in the world. It owes its name to its enormous
size and attains lengths up to 17m! The warm waters of the archipelago
provide some outstanding game fishing, surfcasting and saltwater fly-fishing... |
