Bazaruto Island Lodge

Bazaruto Island Lodge is the kind of place you might expect to find Robinson Crusoe and family living. It is about as close to the ideal African island paradise as you are likely to get. The lodge is one of only two on the entire island, which has been declared a Nature Reserve. The African-style decoration and the tropical island atmosphere give this Bazaruto Lodge a special charm and makes it the perfect antidote for stress.

Bazaruto Island Lodge is situated in a bay on the north coast of Bazaruto Island, the largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago.

There are only 26 thatch bungalows at the lodge. Each one is constructed in a rustic A-frame design and set among the trees and gardens on the edge of the beach. All have en-suite bathrooms and ceiling fans.

Traditional local African and more contemporary entertainment is organised in the evenings.

Flamingo Restaurant:
This is the only restaurant at the Lodge and dinner is announced every night by the sound of African drums.

Mozambican and international fare is served both a la Carte and Buffet style. The specialities include the freshest fish and seafood dishes and grills.

Sunset Bar:
This open-air bar serves coffee & tea, international drinks, tropical cocktails and light meals.

The lodge does not offer the enormous array of children’s facilities that one might find in Mauritius, for example. But then this is not Mauritius! However what Bazaruto does offer is an ideal island playground for the whole family to enjoy a relaxing, safe, fulfilled holiday together.

The relaxed, tropical and rustic atmosphere of the lodge, miles of unspoilt beach in both directions, an entire island to explore and get lost on… Yes, I would say Bazaruto Island Lodge is a pretty good place for a romantic getaway.
