Marlin Lodge is a very special place. Firstly because it has been cleverly designed to blend exquisitely and luxuriously with the environment, and secondly because there’s no escaping the age-old rhythms of Africa and the heady sense of history that the lodge evokes. There's the legacy of Portuguese carracks, trading dhows bearing slaves and ivory to the East, and whispered legends of the Queen of Sheba's Ophir pearls. Each day you'll be reminded of the Archipelago's colourful past as fishermen pole their beautiful dhows - a sight unaltered in centuries - out to catch the wind. |

There are only 19 wood, reed and thatch chalets, which stretch along the beach of Flamingo Bay. Each sea-facing chalet has a private patio with a walkway down to the sandy white beach. Decorated with a hue of creams, browns, and light blues, the chalets reflect luxury and essential comfort. Drift into a slumber listening to the lap of waves and the breath of trade winds in the palms. Classic Chalets are a rustic blend of luxury and romance. All have en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans and mosquito netting. The roofs are thatch and walls are clad with Mozambican reed. Each chalet has its own balcony with deck chair, and faces west for the magnificent sunsets. Luxury Chalets have four-poster beds, beautiful furniture,
ceiling fans as well as air-conditioning and many other extras. All have
en-suite bathrooms. The roofs are thatch and clad with canvas to give
a tented feel. The walls are a combination of washed plaster on brickwork
and Mozambique reed. Each chalet has its own balcony with deck chair,
and faces west for the magnificent sunsets. Luxury Suites are similar to the Luxury Chalets but more than double the size. Features include a relaxing lounge area with a private bar. From the private balconies one has direct access to the beach. The Luxury Suite is ideally suited for guests seeking space, privacy, style and luxury. Executive Suites are approximately 100 m², each with king size four poster bed, en-suite bathroom with inside and outside showers, 2 lounges, mini bar, 2 basin areas and vanity area. Patios have hammocks, sitting area, and private walkway to the beach. They all have air-conditioning and ceiling fans. |
